2 day workshop on the exhibition “Animated Films from Germany” at the
Bangkok International Film Festival in cooperation with the Goethe Institute Bangkok

In early 2006 the Bangkok International Film Festival was hosting the exhibition „Animated Films from Germany“ in a huge venue in the center of Bangkok. The exhibition was benefitting from the attendance of the audience of the film festival, curious to explore the exhibits from 15 different animated pieces.

Hannes Rall was leading several guided tours through the exhbition, explaining the techniques and processes used in thorough detail.

He was also lecturing on the history of German Animation, the rejuvenation of the genre through young artists in the 1980s art school movement and current trends in German animation.

As it is mostly the case in Asian countries, these presentations were met with a lot of interest by the audience. A lot of detailed questions were asked by the attendees.
A lot of them were aspiring young artists or animators themselves, so hopefully they could take some impressions with them, which would further inspire their own work.

Again, we want to mention the great support and utterly professional work by the Goethe Institute Bangkok in bringing this wonderful event together. Most notably many thanks to Inara Stuerckow and Wilfried Eckstein.
